Alexander Zverev narrowly defeated Roland Garros surprise Thomas Martin Etcheverry to reach the semifinals of the tournament where he meets Casper Ruud who defeated Holger Rooney.

Alexander Zverev and Kasper Ruud defeated Thomas Martin Etcheverry and Holger Rooney respectively, reached the quarter-finals of Roland Garros and progressed to the semi-finals where they compete for a place in the final.

In the first game yesterday, Zverev needed more than 3 hours to defeat the surprise of the tournament, Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry (No. 49) with a 3-1 set (6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 6- 4) and qualified for the semifinals for the third time in a row.

On Wednesday evening, Rude also won with the same result, 3-1 set (6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3), but with the typical ease against Rooney and will thus find himself in the semi-finals of the tournament for the second time in a row.

It took Rood two hours and 47 minutes to defeat his opponent and advance to the next stage of the tournament.
