HADDAD MAYA: “We strive to be in this moment all year”
Brazilian tennis player Beatriz Haddad Maia (WTA #14) commented on the Roland Garros 1/4 final win over Ounce Jaber. We remember that the Brazilian player never went beyond the second round in the Grand Slam series tournaments.
“I want to thank everyone who came to support me today, especially the Brazilians.
At the Grand Slams we have a chance to recover in one day, so I took a day off and I have a great team. We strive to be in this moment all year. I remember in the middle of the second set my coach showed me the time, an hour and a half had passed since the start, and I thought, “Okay, maybe I have two more hours.” I had to be patient, Ounce Jabeur is one of the best tennis players in the world. I am very happy with myself and my team today,” Haddad Maya admitted.
In the semi-finals of the French Open, Haddad Maia will face the winner of the match between Iga Sventek (WTA Number 1) and Corey Gauff (WTA Number 6).
