Djokovic: “Proud to win the 23rd Grand Slam at Roland Garros”
In his statements after his victory at Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic made no secret of his satisfaction at having won 23 Grand Slam titles in this tournament.
Totally pleased with the fact that he has achieved 23 Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic said.
Nole spoke highly of Casper Rude in his statements during the awards ceremony and then thanked his coaching staff for their valuable help.
First, Novak Djokovic emphasized: “Thank you again for this lovely atmosphere. I am very happy to be here in front of such a special audience. It’s no coincidence that he won my 23rd Grand Slam here. This is the most difficult tournament for me and I’m proud to achieve this feat on this pitch.”
He then turned to Casper Rudd and said, “MrAsper, you’re one of the best guys on the tour. We all respect you and we all admire you, both competitively and as a character. Everyone standing next to you deserves great respect. I’m sorry for today’s result, but you’re one of the most consistent players and that speaks for itself. I wish you would beat every other player but me. If I’m eliminated early in a Grand Slam, you can win it.”
Finally he said to his team: “I can’t find words to talk about you. You know how difficult I am and I admire your patience. Goran (Ivanisevic) thank you for putting up with me, I’ve worn you out a lot these past few weeks.”
