Nadal: Outside the top 100 for the first time in 20 years
Since Monday morning (June 12), Rafael Nadal has been outside the top 100 in the world rankings, which has been the case since 2003.
The new world rankings, released immediately after Roland Garros ended, brought a change at the top as now Novak Djokovic returned to the top.
However, something different than expected happened. Due to his absence, Rafael Nadal lost the 2000 points he had accumulated since winning the French Open last year and dropped out of the top 100.
Rafa is now 136th in the world rankings. Of course, the most important thing for the huge Spaniard is to solve the problem that has been bothering him and keeping him off the pitch.
For historical reasons, we should mention that we have to go back quite a bit to find out the last time Nadal wasn’t in the top 100.
