Venus returned 5 months later and lost the match. Serena was in the stands.
American tennis player Venus Williams (No. 696 WTA) returned from the Tour by playing in the WTA 250 tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands).
In the first round match, the 42-year-old American lost in three sets to Celine Naef of Switzerland (#202 WTA). Serena Williams watched the match from the stands.

In the next round of the competition, Naef will play eighth seeded American Cathy McNally.
Note that this is the first game for Venus injured at the start of the season at the WTA 250 in Auckland.
