Tsurenko explains why he withdrew from the tournament in Nottingham
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko (No. 45 WTA) explained why he withdrew from the WTA 250 series turf tournament held in Nottingham (England).
The Ukrainian said that the refusal was the virus he contracted at Roland Garros, which prevented him from finishing the fourth round match with Iga Sviontek.
“I’ve decided to keep my health because I’m not 100% ready yet. It takes a few more days to finally recover,” Tsurenko said.
It should be noted that at the base Lesya will be successfully replaced by another Ukrainian – Daria Snigur (WTA 157), who received the status of lucky loser. In the first round, she sensationally beat the world number 10 and reigning competition champion Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia.
