Sakkari: In honor of Mark Filippoussis for the grass season
Maria Sakkari’s team will be represented at the next tournaments with a new signing, as Mark Filippoussis has joined for the grass season.
After working with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Mark Philippoussis will also make his knowledge available to Maria Sakkari.
The 46-year-old trainer was included in her team especially for the grass season. In fact, their collaboration is expected to last about a month.
Mark Philippoussis had excelled on this surface throughout his career, reaching the 2003 Wimbledon final where he lost to Roger Federer.
The Greek-Australian is already in Nottingham, where Sakkari plays, and will follow her in the next three tournaments she will attend.
Next is in Berlin, followed by Eastburn and of course Wimbledon which starts on July 3rd. We should mention that despite the fact that Stefanos Tsitsipas has ended his collaboration with Mark Filippoussi, the two still maintain excellent relations.
