Kyrgios: Impressive in the 16 of the Miami Open, he also knocked out Fonini
In a terrible situation, after Roublef, Nick Kyrgios eliminated the Italian Fonini without giving him a space.
Nick Kyrgios continues his excellent course at the Miami Open, which also overcame Fabio Fonini’s obstacle and got the ticket for the last 16th place. Kyrgios needed just 64 minutes to win qualifying in straight sets against the experienced Italian 6-2, 6-4.
The world No. 102 tennis player was 36/44 points off serve, not even letting Fonini reach a break point throughout the match and using 3/5 of his own chances to claim the controlled victory.
The Greek-Australian is yet to drop a set in the tournament after alternating wins from Adrian Manarino, Andrei Rublev and Fabio Fonini.
With comfortable straight sets, Casper Rudd and Cameron Nori qualified for the 4th round of the Miami Open. The Norwegian, No. 6 on the board, defeated Alexander Bublick 6-2, 6-3, while the Briton, No. 10 on the board, defeated Hugo Gaston 6-3, 7-5. Rudd and Norry face off at 16.
