Nick Kyrgios has revealed he’s contemplating suicide in the Netflix documentary Break Point.

The new episode of Break Point on Netflix, starring Nick Kyrgios and Ajla Tomljanovic, is all about mental health.

The Australian champions shocked with his revelations after admitting he had even contemplated suicide in 2019.

“The pressure, everyone’s eyes on you, the expectations. I couldn’t handle it. I hated the kind of person I was. I’ve been drinking, I’ve done drugs, I’ve lost touch with my family, I’ve disowned my good friends.” he originally explained in the documentary.

In fact, he revealed that he had inflicted wounds on his hand, and to hide these he began wearing a sleeve: “It looked like I was in pain. My arm was full of wounds. So I put the sleeve on to cover it. I thought about killing myself.”

With his elimination against Rafa Nadal in the 2nd round of Wimbledon, the problems got worse: “I lost at Wimbledon. When I woke up, my father was standing next to me on the bed and was crying a lot. That was something of a wake-up call for me. I said: Okay, I can’t go on like this.” . I ended up in a psychiatric ward in London trying to get my issues sorted out.”

The sixth episode of the documentary, titled “Belonging,” will begin streaming on Netflix June 21.
