Will Smith’s shocking slap in the face on the night he won the Oscar as the Williams brothers’ father
Will Smith shocked millions of viewers when he took the stage and beat the Oscar winner on the same night he won the statuette for his role in King Richard, about the father of brothers Serina and Vino Williams.
Will Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 94th Annual Film Awards for his role in King Richard, in which he plays the father of famous tennis players Serina and Vinus Williams.
The American actor came onto the stage of the Dolby Theater, clearly excited, and accepted the statuette with tears in his eyes.
Before that, of course, everyone had marveled at one of the most embarrassing moments in Oscars history, again starring Will Smith.

Tennis player Daniil Sarksyan has changed his sports citizenship and will play for Armenia.
The 19-year-old player’s profile on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) website states that he now represents Armenia.
Sarksyan is a native of Perm. At the age of 16, he moved to Rafael Nadal’s academy in Spain to train. At the end of 2025, the athlete ranks 1094th in the ATP rankings in singles.
In December, several Russian tennis players changed their sports citizenship, including Polina Kudermetova, Kamilla Rakhimova and Anastasia Potapova.

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.
