Tsitsipas: “If you don’t have a financial background, you can’t afford tennis”
Stefanos Tsitsipas gave an interview to the New York Times and mentioned, among other things, his career, but also tennis, which is not easy and needs a financial background.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who ended his participation in the Stuttgart Open prematurely, gave an interview to the New York Times and spoke about tennis, the difficulties it entails and what an athlete has to do to be successful.
Among other things, the world No. 5 argued that in order to play tennis professionally, one must have the opportunity to support it financially.
“It seemed like a natural process to follow the sport of tennis. I felt privileged to have two parents in the industry. I knew it was a place where I could acquire unlimited knowledge because I was always nearby. I felt like me in a way.” I had the advantage over other kids my age of being more exposed to being coached and taught about this discipline by my parents every day.
It is extremely difficult to break into this industry and be a successful athlete. What I’ve learned is that I always have to push myself to the end.
There were many financial hurdles – tennis is an individual sport and you have to pay for everything yourself. If you don’t come from an environment where you can afford it, it’s not an easy thing.
It’s difficult for me to be away from my family for more than half a year and to devote all my attention and concentration to tennis. But it also happens because it’s a dream of mine, I chose it, I pursued it, I took the risk.
It’s not easy to deal with the pressure. I think it’s important to stay relaxed with the body and mind and not let anxiety or stress invade the mind too much. It has a lot to do with being able to hold onto those things and continue one’s journey smoothly and smoothly without being in too much of a hurry.
There will be times when you get knocked down and need to get back up. Keeping this setting gives you a clearer picture of things.
The way I approach life, the way I see the values I want to connect with in life. These are values that are extremely important. Otherwise life will not redeem you. What you give you get back.”
