Kalinina, Kostyuk and Svitolina recognized the first rivals at the tournament in Birmingham

Three Ukrainian tennis players met their first opponents at the start of the main draw of the WTA 250 turf tournament held in Birmingham (England).

Ukraine’s first racket Angelina Kalinina (WTA 25) will play against an American Alisha Parks (WTA 43). This will be the girls’ third date. Both fights were won by a Ukrainian.

The second issue of Ukrainian women’s tennis Martha Kostyuk (WTA 35) will face Anastasia Potapova (WTA 22). Tennis players will play the second match face to face. In 2023, in Miami, Kostyuk lost to the representative of Russia.

Former third racket in the world and former leader of Ukrainian women’s tennis Elina Svitolina in the 1/16 final of the tournament he will play with Linda Frugvirtova (WTA 58). This will be the girls’ first date.

For Marta and Elina these will be their first turf matches in 2023. Angelina had previously played in competitions in Nottingham.

It should be noted that Dayana Yastremska continues to compete in the Birmingham qualifiers. At the beginning of the selection, she defeated Lesya Tsurenko and will face Tereza Martintsova in the final.
