On the way back to Sakkari, Kornet, they were drawn together in the Berlin tournament
Maria Sakkari (No. 8) meets Alize Cornet (No. 72) in the first round of the Berlin 500 tournament, a few days after their elimination in Nottingham.
The draw for the 1st round of the Berlin 500 tournament, which starts on June 19th, has been made. A few days after being eliminated against Alize Cornet (No. 72) in Nottingham, Maria Sakkari (No. 8) finds the French tennis player at her side again.
The two athletes met three more times, with Sakkari winning all three times, namely in Australia, Wuhan and St. Petersburg.
Sakkari is in the second half of the table and if she crosses the Cornet barrier, she will compete with the winner of the pair Azarenka – Sasnovich.
