Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation, member of the ITF Board of Directors, believes that Russian Elina Avanesyan defeated compatriot Daria Kasatkina in the first round of the tournament in Berlin thanks to the emotional charge received at Roland Garros.
Avanesyan won with a score of 6:2, 3:6, 7:6 (9:7). She lost 2-5 in the third set.
– Matches on the grass often have their own intrigue. First of all, it is necessary to note the game of Elina, who, having received an excellent emotional charge in Paris, continued her winning streak in matches with eminent rivals, Selivanenko told Vprognoze.ru.
In the next round, Avanesyan will face compatriot Anna Blinkova.
