18-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Alisa Baranovskaya He became the champion of the UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) series tournament held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

editorial sports.ua I decided to ask Alisa about these competitions in more detail and also clarified the Ukrainian woman’s plans for the future:

“The tournament has been very beneficial for me. I played 6 matches, won 5 of them. He left the group under the first point and played perfectly in the semi-finals and finals. In the semi-finals, I was in complete control of the game. Opponent Evelina Tiron played very well throughout the tournament, so I’m happy to be able to stop her.

And I’ve known Maria Sara Popa for a long time since she played for the national team in 2019. This match was very important to me because we were both European under-14 champions, and it is currently ranked 772nd in the WTA rankings. We are the same age and winning this match was especially important for my self-confidence. I am really happy to be the champion of such a strong tournament because all opponents were equal and each had a chance to win.

As for the plans, I plan to work hard to get in shape for now because this tournament showed that I missed some aspects of my game. I have to focus on private tennis training, so I’ll think about competitions a little later. I hope the preparation goes well because I am 100 percent ready to work,” said Alice.

At the end of 2022, Baranovskaya won the adults’ championship of Ukraine in singles and doubles. Alisa made her debut in a professional tournament in March 2023. Then the young Ukrainian reached the semi-finals in the tough 15k in Monastir (Tunisia).

The victory in the UTR tournament was the first victory for Alice in her career. The Ukrainian won $3,600.
