Sakkari duels with Aleksandra Sasnovich for a place in Berlin’s “8”
Maria Sakkari meets Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich in the second round in Berlin between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The two tennis players face each other for the first time in their careers.
Maria Sakkari continues her course in Berlin and her next opponent is 29-year-old Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich (June 22, 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., NOVA Sports 6 and Live Sportish). The game is expected to start between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. as it will be the last one at the Steffi Graf Stadium.
In the first round, Sasnovich (world No. 70) defeated Victoria Azarenka 2-0 in a set, a match that took place over two days as it was interrupted by rain.
This will be the first time Sakkari faces Sasnovich. The Belarusian has a career high of 29th in the WTA rankings while reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2018. The winner of the pair meets the winner of Vodrusova – Niemeyer.
