Alexandrova reached the semi-finals of the tournament in Berlin without a fight after Kudermetova was injured
Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova reached the semi-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Berlin after the removal of compatriot Veronika Kudermetova.
Kudermetova withdrew from the match due to a left thigh injury.
Another Russian woman, Elina Avanesyan, lost to Donna Vekic in the quarterfinals – 2:6, 6:7 (0:7).
For reaching the final, Aleksandrova will compete with the winner of the match Caroline Garcia (France, 3rd seed) – Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic, 7). Vekic will face sixth seed Maria Sakkari of Greece in the other semi-final.
