(London) Carlos Alcaraz won the final at the Queen’s Club on Sunday, claiming a first ATP title on grass and regaining the top of the circuit rankings.

This will allow him to be the favorite at Wimbledon next month.

Alcaraz beat Alex de Minaur 6-4 and 6-4, claiming a fifth title this year and an 11e in total.

The 20-year-old Spaniard will replace Novak Djokovic at the top of the ATP.

The Flushing Meadows champion will be a serious contender for the Serbian crown at Wimbledon. Last year, Alcaraz lost in the fourth round to Jannik Sinner.

Sunday’s final was Alcaraz’s first on grass. It was only a third tournament on the surface.

He had to save two break points in the eighth game of the first set; he followed that up with a break, then he won the set on serve.

Alcaraz pocketed the only break in the second set, when de Minaur double faulted.
