Former Russian tennis player, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments in the mixed doubles, Andrey Olkhovsky, told RB Sport that the stress fracture of the sacral bone of the Russian Karen Khachanov is an unpleasant injury that should be treated.
Earlier, Khachanov officially withdrew from Wimbledon, he will be replaced in the main draw by Francisco Cherundolo from Argentina.
– A stress fracture of the sacrum is a very unpleasant injury. And she doesn’t heal very quickly. Therefore, if such a problem exists, then it is better to recover. I also encountered this,” Olkhovsky said.
The last time Khachanov entered the court was in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, where he lost to the future winner of the tournament, Serb Novak Djokovic. After that, the 27-year-old tennis player missed the grass tournament in Hull due to injury. He is currently ranked 11th in the ATP rankings.
