Gills on lifting the ban on colored underwear at Wimbledon: “It’s best not to be paranoid. On the other hand, everyone will know that you are menstruating.”
Former world No. 2 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia has spoken out about the decision by Wimbledon tournament organizers to allow female tennis players to wear colored underwear, noting that it could have unexpected consequences.
Last November, a dress code change at Wimbledon was announced. Players were given the opportunity to wear non-white underwear.
– There are two aspects. First, it’s definitely better not to be paranoid. On the other hand, everyone will know that you are menstruating. So I’m not sure which is better. I don’t think I’ll wear something like that. If all the girls wear it (colored underwear), I think it will be better. It’s great that Wimbledon is trying to help women feel more comfortable on the court, — quotes the words of Zhaber The Sun.
Wimbledon will take place from 3 to 16 July. Gill last season reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open.
