Wimbledon organizers tightened admissions conditions for athletes from the Russian Federation
A new requirement has been added for Russian and Belarusian players who wish to play at Wimbledon this year, at the request of the UK government.
Athletes who have contracts with companies operated or controlled by sanctioned individuals must provide evidence that their contract has been terminated.
Possibly due to this innovation, Polina Kudermetova, who, like her older sister Veronika, performed with the patch of Tatneft company, which is under sanctions in the EU, withdrew from elimination.
It should be noted that Kudermetova played in Roland Garros without the Tatneft logo. she ‘s-Hertogenbosch and she played in Berlin without this patch as well.
