The great Caroline Wozniacki returns to the courts three years after her retirement
The great Caroline Wozniacki has announced she is returning to the courts three years after her retirement.
THE Caroline Wozniacki announced the big comeback. The former world No. 1, who retired at the age of 30, has announced she is returning to the pitch to achieve her goals.
The thirty-single-trophy winner said “goodbye” after the 2020 Australian Open and devoted herself to her marriage to former NBA player David Lee, with whom she had two children.
In an interview with Vogue, she announced that she would return to court immediately, which she also confirmed with her post on Instagram.
“In the last three years that I have been away from the sport, I have made up for lost time with my family, become a mother and now have two beautiful children and I am grateful. But I still have goals that I want to achieve. I want to show my kids that you can pursue your dreams, regardless of age or role. We decided as a family that the time had come. I’m coming back to compete and I can’t wait.” he wrote characteristically.
In her 15-year career, Danish-born but originally Polish, Wozniacki won the 2018 Australian Open and reached the US Open final twice. In October 2010, she was ranked #1 in the WTA, where she stayed until early 2012.
