VIDEO. Venus Williams fails to shake hands with referee after losing to Svitolina
On Monday, July 3, the 1/64th final match of Wimbledon 2023 was played between Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (WTA 76) and American Venus Williams (WTA 558). The match ended 6:4 and 6:3 in favor of Ukraine.
Legendary Venus after duel did not shake hands with the judge. It seems Williams Sr. was clearly dissatisfied with the referee’s work.
It was the 6th meeting of tennis players. The Ukrainian has won the last 5 matches.
Note that Williams Sr. has won 5 Wimbledon titles in his career (2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008).
