Ukrainian tennis player Martha Kostyuk (WTA 36) had this to say about his day at Wimbledon 2023:

“Actually, you learn about game delays in different ways. Sometimes at 10pm, but this time I found out quickly enough.

Since I live close to Wimbledon, I immediately went home and thought I’d get closer to my match, but when I was home, Lesya wrote to me and said I wouldn’t be playing today.

The plans were to sleep, it’s cloudy… After the daytime nap, I’m back on the courts to do some activity. Play, run or something like that.

You learn about the postponement of a match in different ways, sometimes you don’t hear about it all day, sometimes very quickly, as I learned today. If it’s fast, you can calmly plan your day, that’s fine,” Martha said.

On July 4, Kostyuk was due to play against Maria Sakkari in the 1/64 final of the turf major. However, the match was postponed due to rain. Most likely the Ukrainian will meet with Sakkari tomorrow, July 5th.
