Former Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky told RB Sport that it would be difficult for Daniil Medvedev to play against the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the second round of Wimbledon.

In the first round, the Russian, seeded under the 3rd number, beat British Arthur Fury with a score of 7:5, 6:4, 6:3. In the second round, Medvedev will face Mannarino.

– Mannarino is a very dangerous opponent for the second round, especially on the grass. In the previous match, Daniil recently lost to Mannarino in Hertogenbosch. The Frenchman plays well on this surface.

Medvedev may have an advantage if the match is played on a big court with space for running. I think the courts here are not as fast as they were in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, this is rather a plus for Daniil. And if they play on a small court, it will be much harder. And we have to admit that the opponent is already very serious for the early stage of the tournament,” Olkhovsky said.
