Pivovarova told why Medvedev demanded to interrupt the match with Mannarino at Wimbledon
Russian tennis player, former second racket of the world among juniors Anastasia Pivovarova explained why Daniil Medvedev asked to interrupt and postpone the match with the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the third round of the Wimbledon tournament.
The game was suspended on Thursday, July 6, during the third set due to darkness. On Friday, the match was completed, the Russian won with a score of 6:3, 6:3, 7:6 (7:5).
– Medvedev looks good at Wimbledon: he played quite calmly against Mannarino and took the initiative to stop the match already. Daniil did this because, as it seemed to me, Mannarino dragged out and stretched the match with medical breaks. I evaluate Medvedev’s performance as a pretty good start, – Gazeta.Ru quotes Pivovarova.
Medvedev will play with Marton Fucovich (Hungary) in the third round.
