Davis Cup finalist in 1995 Andrey Chesnokov noted the game of Russian Roman Safiullin at Wimbledon.
In the third round, Safiullin defeated Guido Pella from Argentina with a score of 7:6 (7:1), 6:4, 6:0. In the next round, Safiullin will play with Denis Shapovalov from Canada.
– Roman is a great hard worker, he achieved everything himself! The first match was phenomenal. Reaching the fourth round is a cosmic result for Safiullin. For me, he is the absolute hero of Wimbledon. The novel is only now revealing its possibilities. The next opponent is very convenient, he can be beaten. Our tennis player caught the drive and is in great shape,” Sport24 quotes Chesnokov.
