Jere – Tsitsipas 0-3: Stefanos sweeps and advances to fourth round of Wimbledon
Stefanos Tsitsipas excelled against Laszlo Dzere, winning 3-0 sets against the Serb and progressing to the fourth round of Wimbledon.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is determined to go as far as possible at Wimbledon. The world No. 5 won a 3-0 set against László Dzere to advance to the fourth round of the historic tournament.
Steph was totally focused throughout the race, giving no room for reaction to the Serb (No. 60) to secure qualification.
In the fourth round, Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Christopher Eubanks (43), who had previously beaten O’Connell 3-0.
The match: Stefanos Tsitsipas showed an effort to put pressure on the Serb from the start and after the first reconnaissance points he started to pick up the pace.
In the eighth game, Steph got his first break point, but Jere held on. But it didn’t happen in the tenth round, because Tsitsipas used the double break point and ended the set 6: 4.
At the beginning of the second set, Jere put the pressure on and, in combination with the brief interruption caused by rain, made the break. The Serb kept pushing and was close to a second break but Tsitsipas was able to hold.
Then he used the break to equalize the set and take the lead for the first time (4:3). There was no further break after that, allowing the two athletes to reach the tiebreak. There Stefanos Tsitsipas managed to end the set 7-6 (5) with a mini break despite being behind.
The third set was more controlled in the hands of Stefanos Tsitsipas. The 25-year-old Greek tennis player quickly broke a break before easily winning the set 6-4 to jointly secure qualification for the next round.
