Lyudmila KICHENOK: “I tried to cheer people up in Ukraine”
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok 2023 Wimbledon mixed doubles champion.
A Ukrainian and his teammate in the turf major final My Friend Pavic (Croatia) beat tandem in three sets Xu Yifan (China) / Yoran Fliegen (Belgium) 6:4, 6:7 (9:11), 6:3.
During the award ceremony, the Ukrainian commented on his victory and spoke important words in support of Ukraine:
“I tried to cheer people up in Ukraine with my performance. I hope this helps them a little because they are fighting for their freedom.”
In his victorious speech, Kichenok pays tribute to Ukraine and says he hopes his performance will bring some positive emotions to the people fighting for their freedom in their homeland.
