Wimbledon: Djokovic flattens Sinner and reaches the final
Novak Djokovic won 3-0 sets against Yannick Sinner and reached the Wimbledon final for the ninth time in his great career.
Yannick Sinner’s brilliant run at Wimbledon ended with a smash at the moonstruck Novak Djokovic, who won 3-0 sets and advanced to the final where he meets Carlos Alcarath.
This will be Nole’s ninth appearance in the final of this Grand Slam in which he has seven titles to his name! On Sunday, Novak Djokovic will win his eighth title, catching up with Roger Federer.
On the other hand, the 21-year-old Italian failed to qualify for a Grand Slam final in his career while reaching the semifinals for the first time.
The match: In the first game of the match, Shiner had two chances to break Djokovic’s serve, but the Serb held on and then broke.
The Italian tried to get the game back but Djokovic persevered and went completely in control to go 1-0, 6-3.
In the second set, Nole broke one game later than in the first set. The legendary Serb managed to do that in the third game and from then on he was in full control, going 6-4 to make it 2-0.
Djokovic tried the same in the third set, only this time Sinner held. The Italian even had a double set ball but Nole wiped it out and sent the set into the tiebreak.
There Djokovic had the recipe to finish the set and game and qualify for the final where he awaits the winner between Alkarath and Medvedev.
