Olympic champion, Grand Slam winner in doubles Elena Vesnina commented on Daniil Medvedev’s advance to the Wimbledon semi-finals, noting that after the first set the Russian tennis player relaxed a little.
On Wednesday, Medvedev defeated the American Christopher Eubanks in five games and reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time in his career, where he will play with world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
Eubanks played his best tournament in his life. Christopher played courage against Daniel. He had a chic first serve, he closed the net perfectly. Medvedev loves to read the game of his opponents, but today he did not manage to do this.
It was clear that after the first set won, Daniil relaxed a little and began to wait for his opponent’s mistakes. But Medvedev got ready just in time: he gave out a chic fourth and fifth sets. Eubanks had no chance in the last two games. Danya pulled out a very difficult match. But in the semi-finals it will be even more difficult, – quotes the words of Vesnina “Championship”.
