“Eubanks broke down by the fifth set of the match with Medvedev, he ran out of gas” – Chesnokov

Former ninth racket of the world Andrey Chesnokov commented on the exit of Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Medvedev defeated the American Christopher Eubanks in five games in the ¼ finals and reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time. Prior to this draw, the best result of the 27-year-old Russian in the tournament was the fourth round in 2021.

– It’s good that Eubanks played a five-set match with Tsitsipas, because in the game with Medvedev, the American did not have enough gasoline for the fifth set. In the tie-break, which ended 7-4 to Dani, Eubanks had a very simple mistake. Then, by some miracle, Dani got a ball that should not have flown. There was an incredible rally that decided the outcome of the tie-break. If Dan hadn’t won those three points, it would have ended in four sets.

Eubanks is a small kid, if you start from the Ostankino TV tower. He serves from the fourth floor relative to others who serve from the first. But still, Eubanks broke down by the fifth set. With Tsitsipas, he had strength for the fifth set, but here they weren’t there at all, – Chesnokov is quoted by the “Championship”.

Medvedev for reaching the final of Wimbledon will argue with the first racket of the world Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
