Former ninth racket of the world in singles Andrey Chesnokov admitted to Sport24 that he was upset by the defeat of Russian Daniil Medvedev from Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon semifinals.
Medvedev in the semi-finals lost to the first racket of the world Alcaraz with a score of 3:6, 3:6, 3:6.
– It’s a pity, of course. Very upset. Counted on Medvedev. I hoped that there would be a struggle, an intrigue. And it turned out in one gate.
Alcaraz gave Medvedev a chance to get back in the game, but he didn’t catch the moment and everything went wrong.
You have to be Usain Bolt to get the balls from Alcaraz,” Chesnokov said.
Alcaraz will play in the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career. Rival 20-year-old tennis player will be Serb Novak Djokovic (2nd seeded).
