“Alcaraz seemed to be playing chess with Medvedev at high speed” – Pivovarova
The former second racket of the world among juniors Anastasia Pivovarova believes that the Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaras outplayed the Russian Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon in all respects.
Medvedev in the semi-finals lost to the first racket of the world Alcaraz with a score of 3:6, 3:6, 3:6.
– Alcaraz had an advantage in all directions, he seemed to be playing chess at high speed. He had successful short ones, he played well on the back line. And his instinct works very well both on the back line and at the net, he reads the game and reacts great to the ball. Plus, psychologically he is very strong.
Medvedev had several moments where he could catch on, get break points, but Alcaraz played very well, served aces and was a head and shoulders above in all respects – both in the implementation of moments, and in power, and in movement. He successfully went to the net and completed the draws, he had a variety of games, – Pivovarova told Gazeta.Ru.
Alcaraz will play in the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career. Rival 20-year-old tennis player will be Serb Novak Djokovic (2nd seeded).
