Russian Demin could not beat Briton Searle in the final of Junior Wimbledon

Russian Yaroslav Demin failed to win the final of the Wimbledon tournament in the junior category.

In the final of the competition, Demin lost to Briton Henry Searle in two sets – 4:6, 4:6. The 17-year-old Russian never filed right through and made three double faults. Searle has nine aces and three double faults.

In June, Demin became the doubles champion of the junior Roland Garros. The tennis player is also the winner of the Junior Davis Cup 2021 as part of the Russian national team.

Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova and American Venus Williams failed to reach the second round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

In the first round match, Alexandrova and Williams lost to the duo Emilian Arango/Elsa Jacquemot (Colombia/France) with a score of 6:7 (3:7), 4:6. The meeting lasted 1 hour 29 minutes.

33-year-old former world No. 1 and Czech tennis player Carolina Pliskova (WTA1057) has made a successful start to the 2026 Australian Open.

In the first round, the Czech defeated the 32-year-old American in two sets. Sloane Stephens (WTA 1102) in 1 hour 35 minutes.
