Djokovic on Alkarath: “It’s just incredible what you’ve done”
Novak Djokovic praised Carlos Alcaraz for his Wimbledon win and congratulated the Spaniard’s team.
Novak Djokovic has spoken his best words about Carlos Alcarat after the Spaniard’s win in the Wimbledon final.
“Of course I have to start by congratulating Carlos and his team! It’s incredible! What a quality you had at the end of the match, you made big serves and big points when you had to serve for the match so you totally deserved it. Congratulations.” , it was unbelievable, unbelievable!
I thought I would have trouble with you on dirt and maybe hard ground instead of grass, but the story isn’t what it seems. Congratulations on adapting to the underground. You’ve only played on grass 1-2 times before Wimbledon this year and it’s just amazing what you’ve done at Queen’s and here. Congratulations to your team, all the best to you.”was his original comment.
He then explained: “Of course I don’t like to lose in games like this, but when you’re older you can handle your emotions better. I have to remain grateful because I’ve won a lot of titles in close games here in the past, like in 2019.” With Roger I was two match points down in this final.
ISo I should lose 1-2 finals I won here so I guess we’re morons! We play for these games, I’m grateful for everything I’ve won. Today I lost to a better player but I have to keep going.”
