The best tennis player in the world, Iga Sviontek, is enjoying her summer holidays in Crete.

World’s top tennis player Iga Sviontek is on summer vacation in Greece after winning four Grand Slams, most recently the French Open beating Karolina Mukhova.

The Polish tennis player particularly enjoys her baths and the sun of Crete and enjoys the beauties of the Greek island to the fullest.


“I have one of the best jobs in the world as long as it allows me to go to places like this. I’m seriously considering staying here until the end of the month and not telling my team.” said the tennis player under the Instagram post.

Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova and American Venus Williams failed to reach the second round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

In the first round match, Alexandrova and Williams lost to the duo Emilian Arango/Elsa Jacquemot (Colombia/France) with a score of 6:7 (3:7), 4:6. The meeting lasted 1 hour 29 minutes.

33-year-old former world No. 1 and Czech tennis player Carolina Pliskova (WTA1057) has made a successful start to the 2026 Australian Open.

In the first round, the Czech defeated the 32-year-old American in two sets. Sloane Stephens (WTA 1102) in 1 hour 35 minutes.

Carolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) – Slovan Stevens (USA) [Q] – 7:6 (9:7), 6:2

This was the eighth head-to-head meeting between the rivals. Carolina beat Sloane for the second time.

Pliskova earned her first victory at the Tour level since the 2024 US Open. Since then Caroline has had two ankle surgeries.
