The Berlin prosecutor’s office has filed a petition with the court to impose a fine on tennis player Alexander Zverev on charges of causing bodily harm, reports RTL.

He was accused of causing bodily harm by his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea, with whom Zverev has a common daughter, Mayla, born in March 2021. The woman declined to comment further. The court must decide whether to issue an order for punishment. The amount of the fine could reach almost half a million euros.

– The total amount (fine) mainly depends on the income (of the accused) and the severity of the crime. So the prosecutor’s office already assumes a serious crime, and also takes into account a good income and financial situation (Zverev), – quotes the publication of the words of lawyer Arndt Kempgens.

This is not the first time Zverev has faced allegations of domestic violence. The ex-girlfriend of the athlete Olga Sharipova accused Zverev of domestic violence in November 2020.

Based on an investigation in January 2023, the ATP concluded that ATP rules had not been violated and did not penalize Zverev. On this, the investigations against the 26-year-old tennis player were terminated.
