The 1/16th match of the WTA 250 series dirt tournament held in Budapest (Hungary) on the evening of July 18 was held between Hungarian tennis player Amarissa Tot (WTA 548) and Chinese representative Zhang Shuai (WTA 45). The Chinese woman withdrew from the match after the 11th game of the first set.

In the first set, the Chinese woman hit the line with the score 5:5 (15:15), but it didn’t count. The Chinese woman called her supervisor, and as she was walking, the Hungarian woman came and erased the mark on the coup so that nothing could be proven. At the same time, the stands booed Shuai, who was trying to protest.

After discussing the matter with the authorities, Shuai burst into tears and withdrew from the match. He found the strength to approach the judge and the opponent and shake hands with them. After that, Amarissa raised her hands in victory.

After the match, Shuai posted a video of the shot and wrote a comment: “When you want to shoot closer to the line and even hit, but still want to count, all the effort in training is wasted.”

Representatives of the tennis world also did not leave this section unattended. Criticism of Judge and Amaryssa Toth was everywhere.

Ounce Gill: “All support for Shuai ❤️ This is unacceptable.”

Denis Shapovalov: “Congratulation 🤦🏼‍♂️ Too bad.”

Monica Puig: “I’m so sorry about Shuai. It breaks my heart 😞.”

Daria Saville: “Zero respect for that girl Tot. None! I am very angry. I’m so sorry about Shuai. Thoth “won” this spot and “won” this match but his reputation was ruined…….. 🤢🤮🤢🤮”.

Caroline Garcia: “We all know what kind of girl Shuai is. Keep going!

Kristina Mladenovic: “The opponent’s inconceivable mistake and terrible behavior. You are in another league, Shuai. We are with you!”

Maria Sakkari: “Zhang Shuai is the funniest player on the tour! He should just be banned from the Tour.”

Ayla Tomlyanovich: “Absolutely disgusting behavior. Zhang Shuai is a better person than most of us for shaking hands with the judge and this girl.”

In the next round of the tournament, Amarissa Toth will face Ukrainian Katerina Beindl. We hope Katerina knocks out Hungarian in their stands…
