The habit of hitting women. Tennis star to pay millions to another victim?
Alexander Zverev steps on the old rake.
The personal life of the German tennis player with Russian roots, Alexander Zverev, has once again become an occasion for discussion. Previously, the top player has already got into unpleasant stories related to domestic violence. But, apparently, life does not teach him anything.
New turn
The accusations against the tennis player were made by his ex-girlfriend, German model Brenda Patea. Zverev began dating Patea in the fall of 2019, and a year and a half later, the tennis player became a father. However, a cloudless family life did not work out: the couple broke up, and Brenda took her daughter with her.
Patea accused the tennis player of abandoning her in her fifth month of pregnancy and did not want to share custody of the child. No other claims were made: the model did not even demand alimony from Alexander. But, as it turned out, the story did not end there.
The Berlin prosecutor’s office filed a petition for a court order to impose a fine on Zverev. Patea accuses her former lover of beating.
Both Zverev and his ex-girlfriend do not comment on the situation. If the court grants the request of the prosecutor’s office, the tennis player can pay a huge fine – almost half a million euros (about 51 million rubles).
Case without trial
This is not the first time Zverev has been involved in such a scandal. He was already accused of beatings by his former girlfriend Olga Sharypova.
Zverev and Sharypova have known each other since childhood, but they began to meet already at a conscious age. After several years, they broke up, and later unpleasant details of their relationship surfaced. In 2019, Olga stated that her ex-boyfriend beat her, choked her with a pillow, and even threatened her with death. As evidence, she published photographs of bruises on her body.
Zverev denied all accusations, and hired the best lawyers for his defense. There were inconsistencies and contradictions in Sharypova’s numerous statements. In addition, she did not want to sue, limiting herself to posts on social networks, and she answered evasively to proposals to transfer the case to a legal channel.
The incident was investigated by ATP, among others. As a result, Zverev was acquitted, and Sharypova was forbidden to continue to make loud statements. The journalist Ben Rotenberg also got it, who actively collaborated with Olga and at the same time had a dislike for Alexander: he was urged to apologize to the tennis player for all the dirt poured out.
The tennis player avoided legal consequences, but his reputation was badly damaged. Zverev was both supported and cursed, and the most ardent haters rejoiced at his injuries and even demanded that he quit sports. All this did not prevent the German from finding a new love: now he is dating compatriot Sofia Tomalla, and so far the couple is doing well.
