Katerina BinDL: “This finale means a lot to me”
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Beindl (WTA 100) shared his feelings after qualifying for the finals of the clay tournament of the WTA 250 series held in Budapest:
“I’m very happy that I won two games today. It wasn’t easy, it was two very difficult games and I’m happy that I was able to do it. This shows that I’m in good physical shape, which is great news for me. It’s certainly not easy to play two games in a row. After the first fight, I just tried to close, recover and focus on the next game. I’m happy that I was able to do that.
This finale means a lot to me. I suffered injuries at the beginning of the season and this is a very important result for me. I am very, very happy, looking forward to the final tomorrow. I don’t know if I have any expectations right now because as I said I am focused on these two games but I have some time to prepare. I will do everything in my power to be ready,” said Katerina.
Katerina won 2 matches in one day. Bindl defeated Fanny Stolar in the quarterfinals and Claire Liu in the semifinals.
In the final of the competition, Beindl will play against the country representative 404 Maria Timofeeva (WTA 246).
