Alcaraz and Spain failed. Hopman Cup Winner Announced

On July 24, the Hopman Cup team tournament concluded.

The Hopman Cup is a mixed doubles (tennis and tennis player from the same country) teams held during the first game week of the season in Perth, Australia, since 1989. The last draw of the tournament was held in 2019. In 2023, the competition took place on the clay court of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club from 19 to 23 July.

Six teams divided into 2 groups participated in the tournament: Switzerland, France and Denmark took part in the first group, and Croatia, Belgium and Spain took part in the second group.

The group winners were Switzerland and Croatia. It was these two teams that faced each other in the final. The win was won by the Croatian team with a score of 2:0.

Donna Vekic and Borna Coric repeated the success of their compatriots Iva Majoli and Goran Ivanisevic, who won the cup in 1996, by beating Swiss Martina Hingis and Marc Rosse in the final.

It should be noted that the Spanish national team, led by Carlos Alcaras, the world’s first racket, is in the last place in group 1, losing against Croatia and Belgium with a score of 1:2. Interestingly, Carlos won both fights against David Goffin and Borna Coric.
