Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation, member of the ITF Board of Directors, analyzed the results of Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova at a tournament in Montreal, Canada.

– Samsonova had a great tournament. She won victories over a number of leaders of this season. Lyudmila showed that she plays on the same level with those tennis players who are now leading the WTA rating, Selivanenko told Vprognoze.ru.

During the tournament in Montreal, Samsonova defeated the second racket of the world Arina Sobolenko, the fourth racket of the world Elena Rybakina and the 13th racket of the world Belinda Bencic. In the final, the Russian woman lost to the third racket of the world Jessica Pegula from the USA with a score of 1:6, 0:6.

In the updated WTA ranking, Samsonova rose from 18th to 12th place.
