for the US Open. Svitolina refused to perform in Cincinnati
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (WTA size 28) failed to start playing at the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.
In the first round of the basics, the Ukrainian was waiting for a meeting with Caroline Wozniacki (No. 632 WTA) from Denmark, the former first racket of the world. The match was canceled at the request of Svitolina.
As Elina admitted on her Twitter account, she took this step due to the health problems she experienced after the Wimbledon tournament and the tournament that took place in Montreal last week. Svitolina admitted that she believes in herself for a better match at the US Open and wants to return to the system in a healthy way.
It is worth remembering that previously Elina Svitolina and Caroline Wozniacki met each other five times. On the account of the Ukrainians there were four victories.
