Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina (No. 28 WTA) failed to reach the 1/8 finals at the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.

In the second round of the basics, the Ukrainian lost to Ons Jaber of Tunisia (#5 WTA).

In the second set, Zhaber served for the match, and in the third set the Ukrainian was ahead with a score of 5:1, but failed to finish the last two draws of the Wimbledon tournament as a finalist. The fate of this intriguing duel was decided at the tie-break of the decisive game, in which the Tunisian representative played more successfully.

It was the second match of tennis players, the Ukrainian lost again. For Kalinina, this was the ninth match and seventh defeat against a tennis player from the top ten.

In the next round, Zhaber will face Victoria Azarenka or the winner of the match Jennifer Brady – Donna Vekic.

Earlier, Marta Kostyuk left the tournament, and Elina Svitolina could not play in the first round due to injury.
