Kichenok kicks off successfully in doubles at a major tournament in Cincinnati
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok (Ukraine) successfully started the tough WTA 1000 series tournament held in Cincinnati (USA) in doubles.
A Ukrainian and his partner in the 1/16 final of the competition Alena Ostapenko (Latvia) beat tandem in straight sets Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway) / Zhu Lin (China) 1 hour 43 minutes.

Kichenok and Ostapenko were supposed to play against Czech couple Marketa Vondrousova / Karolina Muchova, but the Czechs withdrew from the tournament.
In the second round of the competition, Lyudmila and Alena will face the winners of Alicia Parks / Taylor Townsend – Latisha Chan / Zhaoxuan Yang.
