(Paris) The young American Coco Gauff, winner of her first WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati on Sunday, is now 6e of the ATP ranking still largely dominated by the Polish Iga Swiatek on Monday.

Gauff, 19, by beating the Czech Karolina Muchova in two sets (6-3, 6-4), therefore gains a place and approaches her best ranking (4e) which it had reached in October 2022.

This space gain is at the expense of Caroline Garcia. The 29-year-old Frenchwoman, defending champion in the United States, was eliminated from the start and continues to drop slightly in the standings – after being 4e in February – and this before the United States Open (August 28-September 10) where she had reached the semi-finals a year ago.
