Sakkari: Your tie at the US Open
Maria Sakkari learned her likely route to the US Open after the draw for the fourth Grand Slam of the year was held on Thursday afternoon.
Starting next Monday (28 August), the eyes of all tennis fans will be on the US Open for two weeks.
On Thursday the draw for the main draw of the tournament with Maria Sakkari took place to find out its possible path.
Maria Sakkari meets Spain’s Masarova in the first round and the winner of the pair between Smiedlova and Baidl in the second round.
In the third round, she will likely face Kalinina, and in the fourth, Muhova and Haddad Maia. If she reaches the quarterfinals, she will play with one of Azarenka or Rybakina, while in the semifinals one of Sviontek, Ostapenko, Kvitova, Linete, Mertens and Goff awaits her.
