Mareva Mitsotaki’s message of support to the devastated Sakkari: “We are with you!”
The public message of Mareva Mitsotakis and her support for Maria Sakkari following the Greek tennis player’s early ban from the US OPEN.
Maria Sakkari lost to Spaniard Rebecca Masarova 2-0 (6-4, 6-4) and was eliminated in the first round of the US Open.
The 28-year-old Greek woman was visibly upset in her comments yesterday (08/28) and burst into tears as she felt she was embarrassing herself.
Mareva Mitsotaki declared her support for her son’s friend in a story on Instagram.
“Maria is a top athlete and top athletes have every right to experience a difficult and negative year. But she also has a big soul and a strong heart and with exactly the same passion for tennis she will rise stronger! We are by your side! #loveyoumaria”, wrote the wife of the country’s prime minister.
