VIDEO. Goff lost game count and celebrated victory ahead of time
American tennis player Coco Goff She was embarrassed in her first-round doubles match at the US Open. The 19-year-old American duetted Jessica Pegula against Quinn Gleason / Elizabeth Mandlik.
With the score 4:1 (40:0) in the second set, Goff took the opponent’s serve and thought the match was over and went to hug Pegula. But Jessica suggested that you need to win at least one game before you can win. This made even Goff laugh.
“I thought the game was over. I agreed perfectly and went for a hug and Jess looked like she was walking away from me. I thought, ‘Damn.’ What did I do?” said Coco.
Note that Goff and Pegula won the match with scores of 6:2 and 6:1.
